it's what i do...
just wanted to record how it works when i build on a debian platform (I am forced to use a different flavor of GNU/linux at work)
Starting from scratch (with a sid virtual machine), here's what I'm going to do:
aptitude install make
got hung up trying to build python-ldap with the /opt/Plone-2.5.3/Python-2.4.4/bin/python executable (problem finding dependencies)
so switched course and moved over to upgrading this site (http://lake.organicmeat.net)
that went smoothly enough that it's now time to get back to the debian unified-installer build and getting python-ldap to work right
