ownership

by Ernst Doubt last modified 2009-07-15 09:40

to me, it makes some sense (though i could be convinced otherwise probably) for physical objects

in my opinion it's completely wrong to codify the ownership of ideas

i'm not even sure it's a great idea for all physical objects, resources, land, space, whatever... but that battle is a lot tougher

as far as the ownership of ideas though i think it really makes more sense (it's just more realistic) to try to codify the fact that anything that can be converted to binary data is effectively free for everyone as soon as it is "released" (and I don't mean like release as in "software version release", so much as what pandora did with what was previously in the box)
