if there're no arctic spells (or huge storms)  in the immediate future, it seems that we'll probably be frost-free in the gh from here on out without trouble -- if we do get a frigid spell (down in the single digits), I've got to be able to protect the flats that are out now (with a smaller chamber or auxiliary electric heat)

about figuring out something to code (for the fun of it, the challenge, and the utility of creating a software module that fills a need)

maybe i should look for MIDI info again now, but that would sort of be for "practice" as I'm not completely committed to music  (that's a whole nother thing with the way that I dismiss it as "beneath consideration" because of a lack of direct utility (though even now i can't say that's true -- music does provide direct (and definitely indirect) utility to both individuals and society
