We've had clearing this morning, a little rain yesterday and last night, but it's been a few days (at least) since the unseasonably cold weather was here.

The whole talk about financial crisis/meltdown is bugging me.  All these so-called capitalists it turns out are ridiculously self-contradicting.  As far as I can tell, the right thing is for all these huge companies to fail.  The idea that some entity is "too big to fail" is just a sign of extreme corruption (everyone has gotten an entrenched position in the financial system that allows their "skim" to be acceptable).  It's really obvious to me that those companies which are capable of making a profit will continue to do so and those that don't should fail (they shouldn't be bailed out).  Whether it's financial services institutions, automakers or anyone else really makes no difference.  If 20 years from now there are dozens (or maybe hundreds?) of new (US-based) vehicle makers and nobody remembers "the big 3", I surely won't be shedding any tears.
