I'm liking the cool sections -- we're still intermittently getting up into the 90s (both temp and humidity) for short periods too though

It seems to me that the whole group-dynamic problem (in geopolitical relations amongst people, peoples, countries, tribes, religions, etc...) is a tough nut to crack.  It's really all about the prisoner's dilemma for me, learning how to best act when others are acting in (what they think is) their own self-interest.

To be specific, it's been very disconcerting to me that the right has won (or at least come close to winning) US elections recently by simply being totally without a conscience in terms of the message they're promoting.   I really don't find any Democrats that compelling at the moment, but I'd much prefer that the left could get someone elected without following their opponents down the path of "salt the land of our opponents".  I think that the answer is to figure out how to better educate the next generation so that they're not so easily bamboozled by angry negative rhetoric.
