amazing how the circulating water can "create heat" somehow -- i guess it's got to be the black color (even though it was solidly overcast, even drizzling most of the day)

last night there was a young raccoon out back rifling through the garbage -- i chased it up the wall of the shed and poked
it with a ski pole, but it just was content to hide behind all the stuff (i wanted to drive it off with vigor, so that it'd get the idea that other folks garbage might be an easier target) -- oddly enough, raffy was strangely oblivious to it all, not even seeming to notice or alert on the fact that there was a strange animal right there by the back door
