light snow throughout the morning and day -- pump off early (and heater on part of the day) -- total snow of around an inch throughout the day -- started as a dry cold snow, and then gradually got wetter throughout the day -- later at night there were periods of hard rain (which weren't enough to significantly melt the small amount of snow that had fallen)

good skiing early -- got in a half dozen runs on very groomed (but slightly dirty) snow
looking into lua -- i'd thought i needed to learn haskell or erlang (and i still probably will), but lua is a good language that "feels" natural to me (so far -- i'm only into the early part of the tutorial)
